Eva Hart (1905 - 1996).
Survivor of the Titanic, the 'unsinkable' ship that perished on April 15th 1912.
In an interview in later life she recalled that night...
"I saw that ship sink, I never closed my eyes. I didn't sleep at all. I saw it, I heard it, and nobody could possibly forget it." "I can remember the colours, the sounds, everything," she said. "The worst thing I can remember are the screams." "It seemed as if once everybody had gone, drowned, finished, the whole world was standing still. There was nothing, just this deathly, terrible silence in the dark night with the stars overhead."[
THis item is a signed U.S FDC depicting the Titanic and commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the disaster. Postmarked Wilmington April 10th 1987 and signed Eva Hart in blue ink to the top.
